What is KonBee?
Introducing KonBee, a food-delivery marketplace designed for Online Small-business (SME). KonBee is referenced from how Japanese use to call convenient store as ‘konbi’, an abbreviation of a word Convenient. We are here to provide a platform that would be the bridge between Small-business sellers and customers.
In this digital era, we have got some convenient application for shopping such as, marketplace for shopping and grocery, and there is also food-delivery platform to order food from your favorite restaurants, and there is a ride-hailing platform for you to call qualified drivers for a ride when you don’t get a ride. However, with these conveniency there are some people who are still struggling to find what they need, finding local small-business. Small businesses are very popular among Indonesian due to its affordable price with good quality and sometimes they offer something that is not available in offline stores.
Imagine if your friend is having a birthday and you want to give her a cake, but you need a lunchbox-sized cake that has a cute design and perfect size and price. You can only find those cake online, so, you search it on social media platforms. Unfortunately, the one that you found only available in a far location from yours. Then, you ask a colleague if she knows any online store nearby that sells lunchbox cake. And yes, she knows one and recommend you that store. Now, you might feel, ‘Why is it so hard to find the one nearby?’, ‘Why can’t I find this on social media?’.
For your information, small-businesses have limited funds to promote themselves to the target audiences since there are too many social media platforms to advertise their product. Moreover, there are lots of competitors out there who might be more popular than these new small-businesses that afford to put a strong advertisement of their products.
Therefore, KonBee is invented to become a platform that would help people to find your local online small F&B businesses. We are here not just helping customers to find local online stores, but we are also here to support the local online store’s owner. Giving them a chance to get a spotlight easily to be noticed by locals too.

We value our employees and small business owner effort out there and strives to provide what is best for them. Our goal is to gain 10,000 users within 3 months so, that we are able to provide help for more than 300 Small online Food and Beverage businesses reach their target audience within 3 months and 3000 jobless drivers to get more order within 2 months.

When there is benefit, there will be limitation too. But, we see those limitation as our opportunity to serve better. Currently our application only provides specific industry, SME that categorised in Food and Beverages, while there are a lot of small local businesses that has more than just one category. This limitation will be our next innovation opportunity to our application, by expanding the category and support more local small businesses.
Commission fee requires to customer and sellers might be concerning for some people. However, if this application grow as time goes, our company would potentially get more investors and collaboration with other related company and might be able to reduce the commission fee or maybe no commission fee.
KonBee will choose Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia as their first city for launching. KonBee will definitely expand to support thousands of Small-business owners from other provinces such as Jakarta, Bali and many more. There would be an opportunity for KonBee expands and become an International franchise brand to other countries in Southeast Asia or even Globally.
How will we grow?
To keep our application growing to serves better, we are focused on building a community and network over the next year in order to enable these following revenue models:
